Changes in harassment, dismissal and flexible working

With Jason Alcock, Head of Dispute Resolution and Employment

In short

Ansons Law's employment solicitors advise employers on contracts, handbooks and policies, day-to-day HR queries, compliance reviews, TUPE, redundancy and restructuring, and represent businesses at employment tribunals. We also train HR teams and managers. Ansons On Call, our fixed-fee retainer, gives employers direct access to employment law advice whenever it is needed.

Employment law changes from October 2026

The Employment Rights Act 2025 brings in changes that affect every employer. From 1 October 2026 the time limit for most tribunal claims increases from three months to six months. From 1 January 2027 the qualifying period for ordinary unfair dismissal claims falls from two years to six months, and the statutory cap on unfair dismissal compensation is removed.

How can an employment solicitor help my business?

Employment law is complex, changes often and takes time to manage alone. We work with employers across the Midlands, giving straightforward guidance designed to prevent issues before they arise.

Whether you need day-to-day advice, a review of your documents or support during a dispute, we help you deal with each employment issue clearly and in a way that makes commercial sense.
