Supporting our people, our community and our environment.
At Ansons, we consider our social responsibility to the community a vital part of who we are. We recognise the importance of our interaction with the local community and we undertake a range of fundraising and engagement activities as part of our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.
Each year, our CSR committee, made up of employees from across the firm, meets to set our aims for the year ahead. The committee considers how Ansons can add benefit to its people, the environment, and the wider local community.
The firm actively supports a number of charities, including:
Acorns Children's Hospice. One of our directors is a proud Ambassador for Acorns Children's Hospice, and our CSR committee works hard to raise as much as possible for these and other worthwhile causes throughout the year.
Ansons also supports clients and business partners with their own charitable initiatives wherever we can.
We are keen to support and give back to the local community through local clubs and organisations. Ansons currently sponsors:
Members of the team regularly attend games and functions held by the clubs we sponsor.
We take part in events and partnerships that support a wide range of organisations across our region, including:
Several of our trainees are involved in university mentoring schemes at local universities, helping to nurture the next generation of trainee solicitors. We also have links with high-performing state and private schools locally, providing careers advice and engaging with potential future applicants at an early stage.
Ansons is mindful of its impact on the environment and is committed to working more sustainably wherever possible. We have recycling facilities throughout each of our offices and continually optimise our IT systems to reduce paper waste.
We also recycle old IT equipment once data has been securely destroyed, and we are committed to making further progress on our environmental commitments in the years ahead.
Ansons Solicitors has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and we are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.
We are also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains, consistent with our disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and any other relevant legislation which is in force from time to time. We expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers and other business partners and, as part of our contracting processes, we include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children, and we expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.
We have a full Anti-Modern Slavery Policy and Procedure in force and which is available upon written request to a Director of Ansons Solicitors.
