Jason is a solicitor, having qualified in 2008, a Director of the Firm, and a member of the Ansons Solicitors dispute resolution team and provides practical advice to businesses and individuals to find solutions to a wide variety of employment law problems, including:

  • Unfair and wrongful dismissal claims
  • Discrimination
  • Data protection issues
  • Contracts of employment, staff handbooks, and policies and procedures
  • Transfers of undertakings and their effects on employees
  • Settlement agreements

Experience

Recent examples of how Jason has helped his clients include:

  • Drafting and advising on contracts of employment, and policies and procedures for staff handbooks for a local employer, including relevant data protection, anti-bribery and anti-slavery policies to ensure that they remained compliant with the relevant legislation
  • Spotting a potential TUPE issue and advising as to how to deal with the matter and thereby saving the client from a potential Protective Award Claim that would easily have run to tens of thousands of pounds
  • Giving advice on restructuring and redundancy situations
  • Providing advice and representation in the Employment Tribunal on unfair dismissal and discrimination claims
  • Reviewing, drafting and advising employers and employees on settlement agreements
  • Settling disputes through the County Court and High Court as well as alternative dispute resolution methods such as arbitration and mediation
Personal

In his free time, Jason is an active musician, playing both guitar and bass.  He especially enjoys watching live bands and he can often be found both on and off stage supporting local bands in and around the West Midlands and Staffordshire. He has also been busy in the recording studio and released an EP, so watch this space for Ansons first rock star lawyer!
