Off the clock

Beyond the brief

  • Meggie the cavapoo

Philip keeps fit by walking his cavapoo, Meggie (or, more accurately, being dragged along by her).

  • Grade 8 musician

A classically trained Grade 8 musician, he has performed in concert and competition orchestras, although now he just strums his guitar occasionally (but never in public).

  • The theatre

He pretends to be highbrow by regularly going to the theatre, preferably to see something serious and slightly depressing. He once sat through an eight-hour play at the National Theatre, which was character-building.
