LL.B. (Hons), LL.M., Solicitor
Family Law · Lichfield
Maisie Watts is a solicitor in the Family team at Ansons. She is based at the Lichfield office and regularly sees clients at the Cannock and Sutton Coldfield (Mere Green) offices. Maisie joined Ansons’ Family Department in January 2022, having graduated from the University of Buckingham in 2021 with a First-Class Honours Law degree. She completed the Legal Practice Course and a Masters (LLM) at The University of Law, and qualified as a solicitor in 2026.
Maisie adopts a practical and solution-based approach to matters, with the aim of bringing them to a swift conclusion. She acts for people at all stages of life, from new parents to retirees.
She has experience in non-court dispute resolution, including private financial dispute resolution hearings. She conducts her own advocacy and works closely with barristers when they are instructed.
Maisie acts in a range of private Children Act proceedings where there has been a breadth of allegations, including emotional and physical harm to a child, domestic abuse and parental alienation. She recently secured a steady reintroduction of contact following a period where contact had ceased entirely after serious allegations and Local Authority involvement.
Secured an order enforcing the terms of a financial remedy order which the other party had deliberately not adhered to, together with a costs award in her client’s favour to reimburse the costs of the application.
Maisie advises and acts for clients applying for, and responding to applications for, non-molestation and occupation orders. Where necessary, she has acted swiftly to secure urgent non-molestation orders for vulnerable clients, providing them and their children with protection.
Maisie recently negotiated a settlement for her client after mediation and earlier negotiations had been unsuccessful. The terms of the parties’ agreement were incorporated into a consent order.
Maisie acts for clients in contested financial remedy proceedings, including where there are disputes about what counts as matrimonial property and what it is worth.
