Background

Prior to joining Ansons, Paul was Senior Partner at a reputable West Midlands firm for more than a decade.

Paul is a former President of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce, and a fellow of the RSA.

Paul has an excellent reputation both locally and nationally and has been recognised as a leading lawyer by legal directories the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners for many years and has won a number of awards.

Experience

Paul has undertaken in excess of 250 transactions over his career, principally for owner managed or family businesses or businesses with foreign ownership or investment. Examples of recent transactions that Paul has concluded include:

• Sales of independent insurance brokers to national consolidators;
• The sale of a pharmacy chain with 57 outlets to a private equity backed competitor;
• The purchase of a majority stake is an ophthalmic surgery business, having sold a majority stake in  the same business some years previously;
• The sale of various facilities management companies to private  equity  backed and listed companies;
• The sale of a telecommunications company to an LDC backed competitor to  create the largest mobile, fixed line and cloud specialist in the UK.

Personal

Paul is an avid Aston Villa supporter, who also enjoys cooking and spending time in Northumberland.
