What is the future for conveyancing in Staffordshire for Spring 2015?

23rd February 2015

At Ansons Solicitors we believe it is important to stay ahead of the trends to provide you with the best service – and help you prepare for the year ahead.

Here are our predictions in conveyancing for 2015:

  • increased pressure for speedy transactions due to building demands in the market;
  • technology will continue to create high expectation of speedier transactions and need for frequent communication;
  • continued growth in property prices, due to lack of development and supply. Industry estimates increase of five per cent or above;
  • stamp duty reforms expected to unlock first-time buyer market as planned, with there no longer being a need to save so much to get a deposit; and
  • continued popularity of the Help to Buy scheme.

The main dampener will be the general election in May, which always creates a period of uncertainty, and Staffordshire residents in the path of HS2 will continue to worry about the impact on their property value.

Julie Tomasik, head of residential conveyancing at Ansons Solicitors, also predicts other trends that will effect buyers and sellers in Staffordshire in the coming year:

“The spring is always a time for optimism in the housing market as it is the most popular time to put a property on the market.  We have already seen a steady increase in new instructions over the last few months and this activity will fuel a competitive market.

There are still favourable mortgage deals out there for buyers with fixed interest rates still popular.”
