Professional Regulation – Misconduct and Disciplinary

We advise public bodies and individuals on professional conduct including advising on polices and procedures, investigations, hearings, appeals and judicial reviews.

Jacob Rickett leads our professional regulation service and previously worked in-house at the Office of Police and Crime Commissioners Office for Thames Valley dealing with complaints against Chief constables, police misconduct, overseeing Police Appeal Tribunals and assisted with changes to procedures following the introduction of legally qualified chairs and hearings in public for police misconduct hearings.

Jacob has worked for a number of different regulators in private practice leading and conducting investigations and presenting case at hearings or panels relating to teacher misconduct, misconduct and complaints against Chief Constables, alleged breaches of Codes of Conduct by members of local authorities and dealing with student nursing and student paramedic fitness to practice matters.

Our teams experience includes:

  • Advising regulatory bodies on policies, procedures, professional standards and statutory responsibilities.
  • Advising on investigations and case decisions.
  • Presenting cases and providing representation at hearings.
  • Dealing with appeals and judicial reviews.
  • Providing training for officers and regulators.
