Ansons Solicitors is pleased to announce two significant appointments within their Family Law and Regulatory Teams.
Family Law
Mike Vale joins the firm as a Family Law consultant. He is regarded as one of the Midland’s leading family lawyers and spent a significant part of his career at Irwin Mitchell, where he was joint head of the Family Law team in Birmingham.
It is something of a coup for the firm, and attracting individuals of Mike’s calibre stands testament to the growing reputation of Ansons as a whole, and the Family Law team in particular.
Mark Buttery, head of Family Law commented that:
“Ansons’ Family Law team will undoubtedly benefit from Mike’s expertise, and his calm, conciliatory approach to matters that can often be overwhelming for the individuals seeking our support.”
Mike assists people from every walk of life, facing challenges in all areas of Family Law, including financial disputes, cohabitation disputes, Children Act cases, pre-nuptial agreements and living together agreements. He is also specialist in dealing with pensions on divorce.
Regulatory and Environmental
Jacob Rickett also joins the firm as a senior associate, and a valuable addition to Ansons’ Environmental and Regulatory Team. He is an experienced regulatory lawyer advising across the public, private, and education sectors on a wide range of governance, regulatory and compliance matters.
Head of Ansons’ Regulatory Team, David Anderton said that:
“Jacob joins Ansons as we expand our work with businesses across the Midlands and further afield, working in particular with government and public sector organisations. His reputation and technical knowledge, combined with an unrivalled attention to detail makes him a great addition to our team.”
Jacob’s breadth of knowledge and significant experience has been gained through his previous roles as Deputy Monitoring officer at the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley, Head of Legal and Compliance at Birmingham City University, and in-house at the Environment Agency.
He is a specialist in Environmental Law, Data Protection, Fire Safety, and Professional Misconduct matters. He also advises organisations on the highly regulated area of procurement, always providing pragmatic solutions to ensure those competing for work from the government sector receive the specialist advice they need.
Ansons Manging Director Andrew Johnson commented:
“It is pleasing for everyone at Ansons that we continue to recruit talented lawyers like Mike and Jacob, who recognise our potential and the quality of the services we deliver to individuals and businesses.
Consolidation and expansion of this type demonstrate that we are making the right decisions about the firm’s future, enabling Ansons to secure its position in the market place as a well-respected high quality regional firm with a broad offering that continues to meet its client’s needs across a wide spectrum of disciplines.”
