The property team at Ansons Solicitors in Cannock and Lichfield recently held their first exclusive professional networking lunch for women from Lichfield and the surrounding areas. The event was attended by Guest speaker Morag Pringle, chair of the Lichfield Business Improvement District (BID), who shared details of some of the proposed improvement projects in the pipeline for the city.

Morag has been involved in business support and regeneration for over 15 years. During her career, she has been the managing director of British Business Parks which managed the Cannock Chase BID. Following the floods in 2007, Morag was brought in by the local council to help the businesses on Droitwich High Street to pull together and breathe new life into the town.

Morag took up her current role at the end of November 2015 and has been managing the Lichfield BID. Lichfield BID will deliver £1 million of investment in a range of exciting city centre projects over the next five years, based on ideas put forward by local businesses. The proposed projects include:

• Helping to promote the Lichfield food festival;
• making Christmas more magical with an enhanced programme of activities throughout this key trading period, designed to bring more shoppers to the city;
• improving parking by installing credit card payment machines, making customers more aware of parking options and offering free parking promotions at key times throughout the year;
• making Lichfield the first city centre in Staffordshire to offer free wi-fi with unlimited data throughout, for both customers and businesses; and
• enhancing Lichfield’s reputation as a fun, safe night-time destination by employing Night Angels.

Ansons is promoting a series of women’s networking lunches designed to promote awareness of property and business initiatives in the region, and to encourage an exchange of ideas and information between businesses and the professional community.
