Help Amber walk with Ansons on 4 July

6th June 2014

On Friday 4th July, staff of Ansons Solicitors will be doing a sponsored walk to raise money for five-year-old Amber Porterfield from Pelsall, who has spastic diplegia cerebal palsy. The nine mile walk will start at 4pm from Ansons office in Cannock and end at their Lichfield office.

Amber was just 18 months old when she was diagnosed with the disease and needs a frame to walk, often relying on a wheelchair to get around. She is eligible for an operation called selective dorsal rhizotomy, which is no longer available on the NHS. Amber’s family and friends are working hard to raise the £60,000 needed to take her to the USA, where the operation was originally founded.

Ansons Solicitors support various charities every year. Having heard about Amber, who is niece to Ansons’ dispute resolution team member Jen Farley, they immediately wanted to do something in support.

Marie Tisdale, partner in the wills and probate department, and Clare Pickman from the corporate team, are kindly planning the route for the sponsored walk. They even hint at the possibility of a few pubs along the way!

The event is expected to be an enjoyable day for old and young, an excellent team building opportunity, but most of all, the perfect way to raise much needed cash for Amber.
