Ansons sponsor the Lichfield 10k race

12th June 2013

Ansons Solictors are proudly sponsoring the Lichfield 10k race and family fun run on Sun 8th September 2013. The annual race, which is in its 18th year, will start at 10.30 am from the King Edward VI Leisure centre, Lichfield and take runners on a scenic circular route around the city, mainly on quiet country lanes with some gentle undulating hills.

The main charity being supported by this event is Saxon Hill Community School for children with physical disabilities and complex medical needs. The school also provides an outreach service which supports over 100 children with physical disabilities in mainstream schools. Other local causes will also be supported.

With only 1,000 places available on the race, runners are advised to secure their place early in order to avoid disappointment. There are prizes for crossing the finishing line for the first five male and female and first three male and female masters aged over 35, 45, 55, 65; the first male club team of four or more; and the first female club team of three or more. There is also a £100 prize for breaking the course records for both male and female competitors.

All 10k runners will receive a technical T-shirt and a banana at the end of the race.

The race is hosted by Lichfield running club which is encouraging younger runners and family participation by holding a fun run at the same time! The 2km family fun run will also start at 10.30am from the field adjacent to the leisure centre, children under nine must be accompanied by an adult and fancy dress is encouraged. All the finishers will receive a souvenir medal to remember the day.
