We would like to invite you to join us on Wednesday 4th June for a working lunch where the Ansons property law and litigation teams will be at your disposal. The hot topics we will be covering are as follows: 

HS2

Its impact on residential and commercial properties in the Lichfield area. Neil Faunch will look at the statutory scheme in place for those properties that are able to serve blight notices, explaining when to serve a blight notice and what to expect. Neil will also talk through the eligibility criteria for non statutory schemes such as the express purchase scheme and its impact on the statutory blight notice procedure.HS2 – HS2 and its impact on residential and commercial properties in the Lichfield area. Break clauses 

Emma Wells will highlight the key terms to look out for when negotiating a break clause, including conditions on breaking which are now considered to be standard and in line with the Lease Code 2007. Emma will also discuss how to minimise the risk of the landlord challenging the service of a break notice, giving examples of usual pitfalls, so that these can be considered during the negotiations.

Dilapidations

Dispute resolution solicitor, Jagdip Bains will address the practical solutions available to both landlords and tenants when the issue of disrepair arises in a lease. Claims can arise during the occupation or when the lease comes to an end. Jagdip will highlight the potential issues faced by both landlords and tenants when a disrepair claim is commenced and how to achieve the landlord's or tenant's objectives when pursuing or defending a claim.
