Ansons get festive in support of local food banks

23rd December 2014

Christmas is the time for giving as much as having some festive fun, so on 12 December staff at our Cannock office donned their Christmas jumpers for the day – and in return contributed what they could, from tins of baked beans to packets of biscuits, in support of our local Cannock and Lichfield food banks. Staff at Lichfield also joined in the festive spirit and donated generously to the cause.

Every day people go hungry in the UK for many reasons, whether this is unemployment, the effect of rising food prices or even unexpected bills. At Christmas time it can be especially difficult. A simple food box can make all the difference – which is why supporting our local food banks is so important.

The generosity of all the staff has been overwhelming. We have received a fantastic collection of goodies, approximately 150kg of food, which will go a long way to helping people in the Lichfield and Cannock area who are struggling this Christmas. A big thanks goes to everyone who donated.

A special thank you goes to Claire Pickman, secretary to the corporate team, and Jamie Gill, solicitor in the corporate team, and  Laura Pyatt, solicitor in the commercial property team for organising the day and convincing us all to put on our Rudolf jumpers.

If you wish to make a contribution to this worthy cause this Christmas, you can find your local food bank by visiting www.trusselltrust.org/map.

Merry Christmas from all of us here at Ansons Solicitors!
