Corporate partners Jasbinder Singh and Jamie Gill of Ansons Solicitors have advised Staffordshire-based broadband provider Keycom on a company acquisition which will strengthen its presence within the military.
Media Force, the military arm of Keycom, was acquired in 2008 and provides broadband in over 28,000 military bedrooms across the UK. Following this latest acquisition, Media Force will absorb the business of Holyhead-based TriCommunications which serves six RAF bases in England.
Superfast broadband is of major benefit to UK service personnel. It is also a vital means of communication to the families of armed forces personnel needing to stay in contact with relatives serving overseas.
TriCommunications was founded in 2004 by Steve Adams who will continue to work with Media Force as a consultant. He said: “There are clear synergies between the businesses and clientele and this will be a seamless transition for TriCommunications’ customers, who will also now benefit from Media Forces’s faster speeds and 24/7 support.”
Keycom, which also has a base in Wrexham, provides tailored broadband services with speeds of up to 1 Gb/s across the UK. It is committed to supporting UK forces at home and overseas, and last year built a partnership with Help for Heroes to donate broadband services to their recovery centres.
Meri Braziel, CEO, Keycom said: “The acquisition of TriCommunications is very complimentary to our current portfolio and will bring our Media Force footprint to over 30,000 rooms. Steve Adams has developed a solid and satisfied customer base within RAF accommodation, and has the same commitment and dedication as Media Force to providing a fast and reliable internet service for RAF service personnel.”
