Settlement agreements

Settlement agreements (formerly called compromise agreements)

Sometimes either you or your employer may propose to terminate your employment on mutually agreed terms by way of a settlement agreement (or compromise agreement). In order for the agreement to be legally binding, you must have received independent legal advice before entering into it.

From our offices in Cannock, Sutton Coldfield, Dudley, and Lichfield, our employment law solicitors will explain each of the specific terms of the agreement to you, and advise you as to whether they are fair and acceptable in the circumstances.

On some occasions we may advise you not to enter into the agreement. If this is the case we can act on your behalf to negotiate more favourable terms with your employer.
