Ansons Solicitors are once again proud to sponsor the Lichfield 10k race and family fun run on Sun 14th September 2014. The Lichfield Running Club’s annual race, now in its 19th year, will start at 10.30 am from the King Edward VI Leisure centre, Lichfield. Open to runners of all abilities, the course is set on a beautiful route around the city, mainly on quiet country lanes, with some gentle rolling hills.
Every year the event raises money for various local charities and 2014 is no exception. Ansons will be entering a team of runners to raise money for Saxon Hill School, The Canal Trust, Staffordshire Police Benevolent Fund, St Giles Hospice and many more.
There are prizes for crossing the finishing line for the first five male and female and first three male and female masters aged over 35, 45, 55, 65; the first male club team of four or more; and the first female club team of three or more. There is also a £100 prize for breaking the course records for both male and female competitors. Plus all 10k runners will receive a commemorative technical t-shirt and banana.
To encourage younger runners to participate, Lichfield Running Club will also be holding a fun run at the same time. The 2km family fun run will likewise start at 10.30am from the field adjacent to the leisure centre. Children under nine must be accompanied by an adult and fancy dress is encouraged! All the finishers will receive a souvenir medal to remember the day.
With only 1,200 places available on the race, runners are advised to secure a place early to avoid disappointment.
